Conversations with Abigayle Saint Vincent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abigayle Saint Vincent

Hi Abigayle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi, I’m Abigayle!

I grew up in Kansas City, always surrounded by Canon cameras. My parents documented everything, and without realizing it, photography became a big part of me. It wasn’t just about pictures—it was about preserving special moments, telling stories, and making time somehow stand still.

I married my high school sweetheart, and we recently celebrated 16 years together—half of our lives. Together, we have three little ones and a white lab. When I look back at everything—the moves, the milestones, the growth—I realize this is what inspires me. The journey, the people, the moments in between. Lifestyle Photography. Maybe that’s why capturing other people’s stories feels so important to me. There’s something so powerful about freezing a moment—the glances, the laughter, the quiet in-between that says everything—and then being able to relive it through photographs.

We moved to Texas for a while, and that’s where my passion for photography truly took shape. I took photography courses, collaborated with others on social media, and was always the one asked to bring the camera. I didn’t mind though—I loved it. People trusted me to capture the moments that mattered most, and eventually, I realized they saw something in my work. In 2016, I created a separate Instagram page to showcase my art, and from there it clicked—I wanted this to be more than just a passion or a hobby. I wanted to make it my career. I wanted to preserve people’s memories because that’s exactly why I started taking photos in the first place. And that’s how Captured Memories Photography was born.

After becoming a mother and moving back home to Kansas City, I rediscovered photography in a whole new way, and I couldn’t be more grateful to the clients who have supported me along the journey—you truly feel like family. My passion reignited, but this time, it was different. I wasn’t just capturing memories—I was building something for myself, too. I kept chasing this dream, growing a business, and now creating under my own name: Abigayle Saint Vincent Photography.
I can’t wait for all the incredible adventures 2025 will bring.
If you’re looking for more than just photos—if you want images that truly tell your story—I’d love to collaborate!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Ha, not a smooth road—more like our Kansas City roads, with a few potholes here and there! Being a woman in general. Stepping away from my career to become a stay-at-home mom was one of the hardest, yet most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. Being a mom is by far the best title I’ve ever been given, and being present for my babies has been the best thing for them—and for me. But stepping back into my career on my own terms? I’ll forever be grateful for how fulfilling that has been, too.

Balancing our schedule with three little ones has been a constant shift and juggling act—but isn’t that true for most of us? Being a stay-at-home mom is both incredibly rewarding and, at times, isolating. In today’s world, it’s often overlooked, dismissed, or simply not understood—especially when you add postpartum into the mix. The loss of identity that can follow is real, and I’ve definitely felt it.
The truth is, we’re all just figuring it out in our own ways. And if my story resonates with someone, I love that we can connect over that shared experience.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Thank you for the opportunity to share more about my work!

I’m a Lifestyle Photographer, and what I specialize in is capturing those real, raw, and authentic moments that make life so beautiful. My focus is on creating imagery that tells a story—whether it’s a couple’s love, a family’s bond, or the quiet moments of self-love and growth. What sets me apart is my ability to make people feel at ease and bring out their true selves in front of the camera. I aim to make every session feel natural, so the final images are not just pictures—they’re memories that evoke emotion, nostalgia, and a deep connection to the moment.

I think what I’m most proud of is being a mother. It’s such a huge part of who I am and has shaped my approach to photography. I’m also incredibly lucky to have a wonderful partner in life, someone who supports and encourages me every step of the way.

What sets me apart from others is my focus on real moments. I’m not about stiff, posed photos—I’m about capturing what’s truly happening in the moment. I also love playing your favorite tunes during our session and I love how much spice it can bring to a session. Whether it’s the way a couple looks at each other, the laughter between siblings, or the quiet moments of reflection, I want to freeze those in time so people can relive them forever. My photography isn’t just about creating beautiful images—it’s about telling a story that’s as personal and unique as the people in it.

That connection to the people I photograph is what I’m most proud of. Being able to offer clients not just photos, but memories, is something I hold dear.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love our cityscape. I love that during football season, the whole city dresses up for Red Fridays—go Chiefs! (I really do love our team.) And I love the nostalgic food—Arthur Bryant’s, Leo’s, Grinder’s, Stroud’s, Big Burger… all the classics.

Ha—clearly, I don’t love our potholes. And let’s be honest, the roundabouts? They suck too. 🙂
