Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Werth
Hi Tyler, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The genesis of Pursuit of Beauty Hardwoods was born out of a desire for beautiful, enduring furniture for our home. My wife and I were tired of cheap modular furniture made of particleboard and held together by metal anchors. This type of furniture serve us well enough early on but we found that over time, through normal use, the furniture chipped, and fasteners stripped out and there was no good way to repair these problems. I began building custom furniture pieces that we needed, designed for our lifestyle. Our family and friends started noticing our new furniture and I was asked to build custom pieces for their homes. At the end of 2023, I decided to start my business, Pursuit of Beauty Hardwoods.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I held a lot of assumptions about my custom woodworking business prior to entering the market. There has been a big learning curve. The market is always right and I’ve had to rethink my approach and build a few pieces outside of what I thought I would be building before I started the business.
