Community Highlights: Meet Somalia Zalzala of Flawless by Somalia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Somalia Zalzala.

Hi Somalia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up around creativity. Whether it was through esthetic beautification, performing arts, or watching my mother create (and even sell) our beautiful hair bows. I experienced it on a consistent basis so, all things beauty have always been a part of my life!

By the time I entered high school, I had an interest in becoming a hairstylist, however, my interest in makeup definitely took over. Of course, I started out doing my own makeup and other people took notice. That’s when they’d ask me to do their makeup. From there my interest in makeup and desire to learn more about it just grew! I absolutely love the beautification process and helping people look they’re very best.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t! Between building (and continuing to do so) clientele, finding a school that would accommodate my work schedule, and simply trying to build my brand, it hasn’t been easy. The journey of entrepreneurship takes a great amount of work. Surely isn’t for the faint of heart!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m a Makeup Artist & Licensed Esthetician. I specialize in helping women look and feel their absolute best! I believe what sets me apart is me, who I am and what I represent. I represent your everyday women who are aware of her femininity, desires to do better and be better than she was the day before, and also desires to live out her purpose.

At Flawless by Somalia, we want to help you look and feel your absolute best. We offer full body waxing, makeup services, and more!

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The beauty industry is definitely here to stay. I think we’ll see more of an evolving interest in clientele with a multi-cultural background and how to truly serve them as a whole.
