Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Waters.
Hi Ryan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was an athlete my entire to the collegiate level. After graduating from college with a business management degree, I was lost, and I did not know what I wanted to do with my life. I did know I wanted to start a business but didn’t at the time have the funds to do so. I ran into a college buddy who convinced me to quit my sales job and start personal training for him at 24-hour fitness. I fell in love with it, and 15 years later, I’m still at it on my 3rd gym upgrade, learning new lessons and growing my knowledge base each time.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth ride. I made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot of lessons during that time. Some of the struggles have been staffing issues and experiencing burnout as a personal trainer due to early morning and long days to work with clients’ schedules.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At 1hundred, we offer 8-week fitness and nutrition programs that give you 100% of the tools you need to be healthier and happier. We take the guessing game out of your healthy lifestyle journey and help you get stronger mentally and physically. We provide small group personal training, meal planning, goal setting, and supplement support. We recently rebranded and restructured our services to provide our members with the knowledge and support they need to succeed. We are also 1hundred because we only allow 100 members to be in our program simultaneously. Before the remodel, we were revolving doors of people coming in for just a workout. As quantity increased, service decreased, and we couldn’t have that anymore. On Christmas Eve of 2021, we canceled 300 memberships and started fresh with programs that are 15 years in the making. After working with thousands of clients, we’ve developed a rock-solid program that has massively increased our member’s results and accountability without the extremely high cost and scheduling limitations of 1 on 1 personal training. We selected 8 weeks at a time to run our programs because that is a long enough time to see measurable results but not too long to fall off the wagon. Every 8 weeks, we do a performance review and set the goals for the next 8 weeks correcting anything that was not working in the previous program.
If we knew you were growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a quiet kid. Tall, very skinny, but always excelled in sports. I played football and basketball.
