Community Highlights: Meet Noah Bell of Health & Lifestyle Massage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Bell.

Hi Noah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always known I wanted to be a business owner. I come from a family of business owners, and that mindset of building, planning, and fixing things has always been part of who I am.

I graduated from Wellspring School of Allied Health, where I completed the Massage Therapy program and passed the MBLEx. After that, I went back and earned my associate’s degree in Fitness and Nutrition, along with a specialization in Corrective Exercise as a certified personal trainer. That education gave me a deeper understanding of the human body and movement, especially in relation to pain and recovery. It’s helped me approach massage therapy differently, seeing it not just as relaxation but as a way to improve how people move and feel.

After school, I did what most therapists do and started out in a franchise. In December 2017, I joined The Elms Hotel and Spa, where I worked for five years. That experience taught me time management, how to handle a fast-paced environment, and how to deliver an upper-end spa experience that I still apply today.

In 2021, I created Health & Lifestyle as a wellness brand and began teaching self-myofascial release and wellness classes at The Elms until the end of 2022. When I later joined a small business in 2023, I realized I could open my own practice. A friend of mine showed me the ropes, and that guidance gave me the push I needed.

Since opening Health & Lifestyle Massage in 2023, I’ve moved the business twice and continued learning with each step. Every challenge has brought growth and I now have a thriving practice in a great location with two massage therapist employees; with a clear plan to grow even further. What started as one massage table and a vision has turned into a growing wellness practice focused on real relief, real results, and helping people live better lives with less pain and stress.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. In the beginning I was doing everything myself, including scheduling, laundry, cleaning, marketing, and client care and post-massage check-ins, while trying to build a steady income. Finding the right location, managing expenses, and keeping things running during slow seasons were constant challenges.

There were plenty of growing pains with moving spaces and learning how to hire and train new therapists. My brothers have been a big source of inspiration and support through it all. They have helped me keep perspective and reminded me not to let stress take over.

I have also had to make changes in my personal life to grow as a business owner. I realized that if I was not disciplined or balanced, I could become my own biggest obstacle. Learning to manage that side of things has been just as important as anything I have done professionally.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Health & Lifestyle Massage was created to bridge the gap between relaxation and real recovery. Our focus is on helping clients not only feel better but move better, using techniques that relieve pain, improve mobility, and support long-term wellness.

We offer a range of therapeutic massage services, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, cupping, and stretching, as well as specialty options like Ashiatsu and targeted pain relief sessions. Each service is customized to the client’s needs, whether they are looking to recover from workouts, manage chronic pain, or simply relax and recharge.

My background in fitness and nutrition gives me a deeper understanding of how the body responds to movement and stress. That knowledge shapes how I approach massage therapy and helps me design sessions that get real results. I especially enjoy working on the neck and have developed a strong skill for relieving pain and tension while improving range of motion in that area.

The other therapists on my team bring their own unique strengths and styles. Hilary specializes in Ashiatsu, a barefoot massage technique known for its deep, consistent pressure, and Shannon brings a medical massage background that helps clients dealing with injuries or chronic pain. Together we create a well-rounded experience for every client.

What really sets us apart is the relationship we build with our clients. We take the time to understand their goals, habits, and lifestyle because true results only come when you know the person you are working on. That personal connection makes all the difference in how we care for people.

I am proud of the environment we have built at Health & Lifestyle Massage. Our team is small but growing, and we share the same vision of providing exceptional care, personalized service, and lasting results for every client who walks through our door.

How do you define success?
I think about success a lot, and I don’t see it as an end result. Success isn’t a trophy or a finish line. It’s something you build and grow over time.

Success comes from failure. When a baby learns to walk, it falls over and over again before taking those first steps. Each fall is part of the process. The same is true in business and in life. Every challenge, mistake, or setback teaches you something that helps you move forward stronger and smarter than before.

To me, success is a skill. It comes from consistency, discipline, and the willingness to keep improving. You’re successful when you’re growing, learning, and becoming better than you were yesterday. As long as I’m moving forward, helping people, and building something meaningful, I consider that success.
