Hi Mi’chole, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey guys, my name is Michole (My cole). A little bit about me is I’m very outgoing. I’m from Sacramento, Ca. I moved to Clarksville, TN when I was 15 years old. I always wanted to become an esthetician because I fell in love with doing my makeup back in 2016 and didn’t understand why my skin was reacting negatively. So I wanted to focus more on my skin underneath all the makeup. My saying is, “what is makeup without good skin?” I’ve fallen so in love with doing lash extensions and skincare that it became my main focus at one point until I started waxing as well. I want to make everyone feel beautiful and confident in the skin that they’re in! We only get one skin, so why not do our best to keep it up? I’m so passionate about my career and look forward to learning as I grow in this industry.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t believe anything in life comes to us quickly. There will always be obstacles that we must overcome, especially becoming business owners. It’s always hard to gain and keep clientele. I only say that because we are human, and humans do make mistakes; nobody’s perfect, so being able to keep those clients happy can be rough at times, but one thing I won’t ever stop doing is learning from any mistakes that I have created. I’ve only been in my career for less than a year, so I know I have a lot to learn, but at the same time, I’m ready for any challenges that come my way because I didn’t expect them to go easy.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about SummerMink?
SummerMink is my baby! I offer a variety of services for Men, Women, & Teens. The most booked services are eyelash extensions. Also, I currently provide facials, aromatherapy facials, and body waxing, and I am looking to expand with more services soon. When you book an appointment with me, I’m there for you 100% of the way, especially if you’re new to getting a service. I’ve always been told that my aura and the vibe in my workplace are very relaxing and calming, which I genuinely love and appreciate. I always want my clients to feel comfortable, mainly if they lie down with their eyes closed for 2.5hrs.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I tell myself always to put myself out there whether or not the outcome will be good or bad; at least I did try. I have taken risks, and they put me in significant positions, Putting me in rooms I never thought I would be in. When I take risks, I pray over them first to ensure I make the right decision.
