Community Highlights: Meet Leanna Mazzeffe of Mazzeffe’s

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leanna Mazzeffe.

Hi Leanna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Entrepreneurship runs in my family – I have been lucky enough to grow up around barbers/hairstylists, relators, bakers, grocers… you name it! With much inspiration to become a self-starter, I began creating and selling custom clothing seven years ago, when I was just 17, but 2+ years ago decided to make my business official and named it, “Mazzeffes,” after my Italian family name.

Today, I create personalized merchandise in my workshop, which features a screen-printing machine, a vinyl heat press, a large, commercial-grade embroidery machine, and a studio to shoot pictures and videos of the merchandise.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest obstacle I often run into is time management. Though Mazzeffe’s is a big passion of mine, I also work full-time in pharmaceutical advertising, film weddings on the weekends, and am working to complete my MBA in Marketing.

So, you could say I am a pretty busy person! But the amazing people I have worked with and support I receive from my friends and family have helped create my journey into a smooth one.

We’ve been impressed with Mazzeffe’s LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I am most proud of the brand motto that I often refer back to and remind myself every day: Work Hard & Be Nice.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Clothing will always be around (thank goodness lol), but it will be important to stay ahead of the trends in the fashion industry over the next 5 years. I enjoy keeping a pulse on the fashion industry and being able to offer the newest and trendiest styles to those who purchase from Mazzeffe’s.
