Community Highlights: Meet Kristy White of Faith By Kristy White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristy White.

Hi Kristy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a Kansas native, I have an appreciation for rural, natural beauty and all things with rustic charm. After moving to California’s Santa Ynez Valley in 2010, I was inspired by the natural beauty of the area, and thus, began my leather designs. The landscape shares a quality like Kansas, with wide-open space. In this I’ve always been drawn to the lineage it creates from a design and composition perspective.

I’ve combined my heritage of sewing, and my education in photography, art, and design. I’m 100% passionate about my designs so I love the entire production of turning into a lifelong business. As a designer working with leather, each accessory is hand-made with a personal touch and transformative energy.

Sharing my creativity with you is my demonstration of faith, in stepping out to do something without knowing. Thus born Faith By Kristy White Designs. Now living back in Kansas, I’m also here to learn more about my customer needs, so you have a unique and functional bag.

So enjoy and carry with you a rustic yet chic design, and let it also be a reminder to have FAITH.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Always financial.

From the start, I worked a $12 an hour part-time job while building and connecting with customers. I pounded the pavement, I walked around to stores with a bag full of my bags and asked people if they wanted to look at my designs and purchase anything. I did this for the first 3 years.

I never got a loan and used whatever money I had to make it work. But being 100% dedicated gave me the never give up, and I have grown in many ways each year.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Faith By Kristy White?
