Community Highlights: Meet Kristen Lehman of KLean Cocina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Lehman.

Hi Kristen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am the founder and owner of KLean Cocina LLC. KLean Cocina was started based off of the inspiration of a personal cheffing company. I had a background in foodservice and am an awesome cook!! I was working as the General Manager of a bar and grill when my significant other told me he was searching for a health food service to help him stay on track between travel. He used one for a couple of months before he needed something else. I started prepping for him, doing endless research on diets, learning everything there is to learn about macros, science of the human body and all micronutrients needed to make a balanced diet. I customized his meal plans and cooked his food. My friends and family caught on, they all knew I had a background in nursing and was a great chef!

They also saw the results we were getting from our plans. I transformed both me and my significant other. This created my brand, we live the lifestyle, eat the food and stay consistent. I realized that was motivating for the people around me and it was satisfying seeing that this is what I could offer the world. A solution to not having the education, time or resources to carry out a healthier lifestyle, fixing ailments and reversing health issues. Since 2016 I have transformed the mindset of over 1000 people, touched them with my food and knowledge. It was a long journey to where I am now and I still have a ways to go. Meal Prep and Catering has helped me find my passion. I have learned I am simply an entrepreneur with no limits to the type of business I will be involved in but I am passionate about health and wellness and most of all cooking.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Entrepreneurship is never a smooth road. But one thing I know is it will be what you make it. Since I started in 2016, there has been an influx in meal prep and catering companies. But also there has been an influx in health and wellness influence and relevance. So this lane will always be lucrative but saturated.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
KLean Cocina is a health and wellness company specializing in meal prep, meal planning, and health coaching. We are known for transforming human bodies along with mental health using diet and exercise. KLean is a different type of prep company, we take on customers with intentions on one on one transformation. This isn’t just a purchase and ship meals situation. We communicate with clients and customize their plans and experience if they choose. I am most proud of our influence on the people of Kansas City and the relationships we have built in the fitness community.
