Community Highlights: Meet Katie Kenton of Katies Kennel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Kenton.

Hi Katie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Katie’s Kennel was created out of my love and passion for my own animals and wanting to provide the same care to others. Prior to starting Katies Kennel, I worked an 8-5 and found myself looking forward to my lunch breaks with my dogs more than my job itself. I started watching friend’s dogs when they would travel and loved the socialization it gave my pets and it filled a void I felt I had in my life. One day I decided to quit my job, take a risk and start my own pet care company.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall I feel like we have had a smooth time. Covid was of course a scary time and we are learning to adjust post covid. But for the most part, it’s been smooth sailing.

We’ve been impressed with Katies Kennel LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are your local pet professionals! We offer all in-home or mobile services that are customized to each client’s needs. Our services range from in home pet sitting, dog walking, dog park play dates, an interactive doggy daycare concept and mobile grooming!

What sets us apart is how customized each service is. We always say no pet is the same and we get that! We offer a community to dog parents that is unlike no other.

I am SO proud of our brand that has created a community for local pet owners. Our social media presence is how we have generated 70% of our clients just by tagging and sharing.

Katie’s Kennel makes your pet feel like a celebrity… as they should!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
WOW! So many… I previously worked with an amazing leadership team at another local business called Celsius Tannery and I learned so much about running a business during my years with them. Lauren Stone and Rachel Smith have been two of my top mentors who are now clients of mine. It all comes full circle!
