Community Highlights: Meet Jordan Kandt of Cultivation Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Kandt.

Hi Jordan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story has always been shaped by faith, family, and a deep desire to grow. I grew up in a military family, which meant my dad was away often, and my mom struggled with severe mental illness. Those experiences weren’t easy, but God surrounded me with support and used those years to give me resilience and perspective I carry with me today.

When it came time for college, I chose UMKC because it had one of the only programs close to what I felt called toward: Health Sciences. While many of my friends went to bigger schools for the full “college experience,” I felt led to prioritize a path that aligned with my future. During those years, I worked full-time, gained nonprofit experience, grew in my faith, and married my husband.

After graduation, my first role was with A Place for Mom, a national senior living referral company. That’s where God opened the door for me to gain invaluable experience working with small business owners across the country while also learning from the enterprise side. I got exposure to data, CRMs, lead conversion best practices, and change management, which gave me a strong foundation early on.

During that season, my husband and I also purchased a local small business. While working on its marketing, I ended up being recruited by an agency who saw the value of my experience coaching business owners on converting leads into loyal customers. That was a pivotal moment where I realized how much I loved empowering small business owners.

Becoming a mom deepened that clarity even more. While on maternity leave with my second son – literally breastfeeding while studying – I earned my SMB Consultant Certification. That time sparked the idea for what would eventually become Cultivation Consulting: a way to bring together everything I had been doing my whole career: helping businesses put smart lead generation tools in place while also coaching owners and intake teams on best practices for conversion and retention. At the time, I didn’t realize just how important that preparation would be.

When it came time to return from leave, I was told only days before that my original position no longer existed and that I was expected to step into a new role that had been decided for me without my involvement. It was a hard message to receive as a new mom already in a season of big life change. But instead of dwelling on the disappointment, I chose to see it as confirmation. God had already planted the vision for Cultivation Consulting in my heart, and this door closing made it clear He was asking me to step fully into it.

That’s how Cultivation Consulting came to life. The name reflects exactly what I feel called to do: cultivate growth in businesses, not just through marketing and lead generation, but also by helping owners strengthen their client experience, retention, and employee culture. I’ve always believed the most sustainable and impactful organizations are built by leaders who value both people and performance, and true success requires both. I love helping bring that balance to life.

Shortly after, God opened another door for me at IDEAL for Healthcare, where I now serve as Executive Director. IDEAL is focused on advancing women in healthcare leadership, and it’s been such a blessing to pour into a mission that resonates so deeply with my own journey.

Looking back, none of this path has been by accident. It hasn’t been without trials, but those trials have only strengthened my faith and clarified my purpose. I truly believe every season—good and hard—has prepared me for the work I get to do today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Cultivation Consulting?
At Cultivation Consulting, we help clinics and small businesses grow in a way that is both strategic and sustainable. While what we do in large agnostic across service-based businesses, we have a heart for private practices.

We specialize in putting the right marketing systems and tools in place to generate new opportunities, but what sets us apart from other consultants is that we don’t stop there. We also work directly with intake and front desk teams to train them on best practices for converting leads into loyal clients and retaining them long-term. In our eyes, that piece is absolutely essential—because what’s the point of generating leads if your team isn’t equipped to maximize them? Skipping that step is like handing someone the keys to a car without ever teaching them how to drive.

I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of organizations in my career, from home care agencies and dermatology practices to cosmetic surgeons, med spas, hormone clinics, IV therapy centers, dentists, skin clinics, and pain management practices, among others. That variety has given us a deep understanding of the nuances across specialties while also highlighting the universal truth that success always comes down to systems, people, and experience.

Our services reflect that holistic approach. We offer:

– Marketing Systems & Lead Generation – making sure the right tools are in place to capture and nurture opportunities.

– Sales & Client Experience Coaching – equipping intake and front desk teams to build trust, close appointments, and deliver five-star service.

– Client & Staff Retention – helping practices keep the people they work so hard to bring in.

– Operations & Workflow Management – creating efficiencies that make teams more effective.

– Reputation Management – building and protecting the online presence that influences patient decisions.

– Content & Brand Building – ensuring every touchpoint reflects the heart and value of the organization.

We’re also proud to have incredible marketing & consulting partners both here in Kansas City and nationally. With our team’s collective experience, and my own background working with markets all across the country, we’re able to bring fresh insight and best practices that help businesses compete and thrive, no matter their size or specialty.

What we’re most proud of brand-wise is that Cultivation Consulting isn’t just about numbers or quick wins. It’s about cultivating client relationships and something lasting: stronger businesses, more empowered teams, and better experiences for the clients and patients they serve.

What are your plans for the future?
My professional and personal bucket lists are certainly full, but as I’ve done in the past I plan to follow the path God guides me down.

Being in the midst and early-stages of change, I am looking forward to stability versus any more big changes for now.

Most of my goals have remained the same for years and I am still striving to reach them:

– Pay off student loans
– Buy acreage and livestock
– Receive an MBA
– Build my dream home
– Travel and show my kids the world
– Invest in real estate and private equity
– Write a romance novel
– Launch more business concepts
