Community Highlights: Meet Jonyse Gardner of Glamazon Esthetics & Nails

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonyse Gardner.

Hi Jonyse, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
After retiring from the military, I pursued my childhood dream of being in the beauty industry as an aesthetician. I graduated from aesthetic school and opened a waxing and skincare bar named Glamazon wax bar in Junction City, Kansas in 2015. When all my sons graduated from high school, I wanted to leave Kansas and move to a small city and Kansas City was perfect.

It gives me the city life and I’m still close to Kansas to run my spa remotely and open another small location because I love what I do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My 2015-2020 years were smooth sailing. When Covid-19 hit it was a struggle and still is. I had the option to close my business and just start small in Kansas City but my staff in Junction City is my other family closing Glamazon Wax Bar would be adding to the very large population of unemployed Americans. So even though the road has been rough, I’m blessed to still be able to provide my staff with jobs.

Glamazon Esthetics & Nails Specializes in advanced skincare and nail services. I am located inside hair KCMO. I don’t just provide services I provide an experience. I pride myself on being gender-inclusive providing waxing, skincare, and nails services to all. My location is private all services including nails is performed in a nice tranquil environment and escape from the world.

What makes you happy?
Acts of service make me happy. I love to make a difference in someone’s life even if it’s small. These days everyone needs to know that someone genuinely cares.
