Community Highlights: Meet Jennifer Pemberton of Cuddle Cats Cafe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Pemberton.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been actively involved in entrepreneurship since the early 2000’s.
This particular venture, Cuddle Cats Cafe, was born out of tragedy.
I, along with my sons, have opened this in honor of my daughter who died last year.
I have been involved in animal rescue since college, and this was a passion my daughter shared with me, particularly cats.
Cuddle Cats provides a chance for cats to find a loving home while also providing a safe space for young people to hang out & have fun while participating in something that benefits the community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Opening Cuddle Cats has most certainly not been all smooth sailing.
Our coffee bar side has been delayed in opening due to a contractor stealing our materials and payment.
There is a lot more than people might realize to running a space that involves animals also.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Cuddle Cats Cafe?
We are a 3000 sq ft space that has been designed with comfort, relaxation, and play in mind for both people and cats.
All of the cats here are available for adoption except Twist, who is our mascot.
We offer a cozy space to connect with cats, read, work, listen to music, etc.
We hope to offer a full coffee bar soon with a variety of baked goods and snacks.
We enjoy welcoming visitors of all ages and have bingo nights, uno tournaments, and a wide variety of fun activities.
We accept donations of both supplies and financial help all of which goes to sustain the cats and the space.

How do you think about luck?
I believe we make our own luck in life and business.
I have founded multiple businesses. Some of those have been successful, others have failed. We learn through trial & error.
The one piece of advice I would give to others with an entrepreneurial spirit is that it is always worth it to take the risk.
Keep pursuing your dreams and make it a reality!

Pricing:
