Hi Jennifer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The Mix storefront opened on August 4th, 2023. There was a need for women to be able to shop locally and offer options that aren’t available at the big box stores. Most of the stores in our mall have closed in recent years and we thought this would be a great way to serve the women in our community. We strive to provide everyday fashion for women of all ages. Established on the principle of inclusivity, we hand pick a variety of clothing and accessories that cater to a wide range of tastes, sizes, and preferences.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We are the only clothing retailer in downtown, so we are definitely a destination.
We’ve been impressed with The Mix – Women’s Boutique, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Mix is a women’s boutique in downtown Topeka, Kansas, founded with the goal to help women feel confident and comfortable. We offer elevated, wearable pieces for everyday moments and special occasions alike.

What makes you happy?
Seeing women leave The Mix feeling confident and comfortable in their own skin makes me happiest. Creating a space that feels welcoming, uplifting, and genuinely personal is what brings me the most joy.
