Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacob Gaytan.
Hi Jacob, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The story of GTN starts in Mexico. I grew up in a small town called Nava, Coahuila, and was studying Software Engineering at university when I started working at a print shop called Impresos Monterrey. I spent a few years there learning about design and digital printing.
In 2022, I had the opportunity to move to Kansas. At first, I worked different jobs doing video editing and photography, but I always had the goal of running my own business, being my own boss, and building something I could eventually share with my family. That’s where the name GTN Studio comes from. GTN is short for my last name, Gaytan, giving the business a family-centered core.
Over time, I met a great friend named Jonathan Pitallo from VIVE Promo & Print, who gave me a job as a designer. He helped me learn the industry in Kansas City, make connections, and start shaping the way I wanted my business to run. I also started picking up clients through friends and acquaintances. Later, Jonathan introduced me to Antonio Perez from InnovationKC, another key mentor in my journey. I learned a lot there too, working on all kinds of printing projects, designing and printing vehicle wraps, meeting new people, and it gave me the confidence I needed to branch out on my own.
In 2024, I officially registered GTN Studio in Kansas and formed my LLC. By 2025, I opened my first office. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to help many business owners with small and large companies like El Mercado Fresco, Frutopia, World Fresh Market, JPA Roofing, CRG Roofing, and others. The vision for GTN is simple, to help business owners through our services not just by selling them something, but by guiding them in the right direction. Many of our clients are entrepreneurs just starting out, and we always aim to provide affordable but high-quality products and services
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been tough. Even if you know your area of work, going from working for someone else to running your own business is a whole different story. Overnight I had to be the marketing team, the salesperson, the CEO, customer support, and the accountant, everything!. There were so many things I didn’t know and so much to learn.
Probably the biggest challenge was figuring out how to keep sales consistent while also handling production. I imagine every business owner goes through the same thing, and eventually you have to hire the right people for the job. This year is going to be the year I finally get to do that.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck has played an important role in my life and business, especially in the opportunities to meet key people who taught me a lot and helped open doors in the industry. But luck alone isn’t enough. I had to learn, work hard, and be ready to take advantage of those opportunities. I think it’s the combination of luck, effort, and preparation that has really allowed me to get to where I am today.
