Community Highlights: Meet Isaac Wambua of Dynamo Methods

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Wambua.

Hi Isaac, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Kenya and raised on a farm. I went to school in the village until I graduated high school.

I am the fifth child in a family of seven children; two girls and five boys. Since when we were old enough to understand and speak our native language, my mother taught us that hard work in school is the only way to succeed in life.

And to support her words, she gave me an opportunity to succeed by taking me to school.

Despite going through some tough times at a young age like my dad leaving us when I was nine years old, growing up in a dark and an extremely poverty-stricken environment, and even being made fun of by teachers and neighbors, I’ve been able to build an incredible lifestyle.

I did my primary, high school, and undergraduate studies in Kenya and then moved to the USA in 2007 to pursue a master’s degree in Industrial Management.

Moving to America for me was a ticket to a better life for me and my extended family especially my mother who brought us up single-handedly.

For years, she worked in other people’s farms so she could feed her kids.

I mainly moved to America to find better opportunities so I could help my mother and my siblings and I’ve been fortunate enough to accomplish that goal.

My mother is now 80 years old and lives a very comfortable life because she invested in her children.

For my own family, I am blessed with a wife and a 20-month old daughter and they are my greatest support system as I build a business.

After working in America as an industrial engineer for 8 years, I decided to venture into the world of business coaching, speaking, and training with the sole goal of inspiring leaders and professionals to conquer their fears and step into greatness.

This was born out of a dire need I saw in some of the companies I worked for.

There was evidently a lack of a strong structure to develop and nurture leaders within the organizations.

As a middle manager, I struggled to lead, communicate, and produce the expected results through my team.

It wasn’t until my former boss, Shelley enrolled me in a training and mentorship program that my eyes opened and realized what the missing piece of the puzzle was.

After experiencing coaching, I felt compelled to do the same for others.

My passion for training and coaching started at an early age while still living in the village and was inspired by my English teacher, Mr. Nathan who took the time to teach me how to speak English and use it as a tool for powerful interactions.

For the last seven years, I have been running and growing my own company. I have the privilege of being the founder and president of Dynamo Methods, a leadership coaching, and management training business. I am a professional speaker, trainer, and facilitator who works with leaders focused on productivity and employee engagement. We specialize in working with leaders at every level to improve organizational efficiency, communication, and employee engagement.

My purpose is to inspire and empower leaders to discover their potential so they can step into their greatness and experience fulfillment and happiness.

My diverse experience in training and leading teams ranges from engineering, manufacturing, hospitality, customer service, IT, and entrepreneurship, and many other industries.

For my speaking and training, I focus on:
-Team building
-Employee engagement
-Leadership, management, and communication skills

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business and working towards growing the business was not a smooth ride especially the first three years. The major challenges were:
1. Lack of experience and the ability to translate business theory to reality
2. A rough and stressful learning curve on sales, marketing, and even administrative skills
3. Running out of my savings in 2017 and having to work part-time as a uber driver for 5 months to support myself.

The biggest challenge of all was working on myself to develop the belief that I’m good enough, smart enough, and capable enough to grow a business

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Dynamo Methods?
Dynamo Methods is a professional development, leadership, and management training company. We specialize in helping upcoming and ambitious leaders to grow themselves so they can grow their teams which ultimately helps in growing their organizations both revenue-wise and culturally.

What sets us apart from others is that we coach and train with results in mind. Every training, coaching, and mentoring we do is tied to a goal/objective that the individual or a company wants to accomplish. And that means, it’s never a cost but an investment for organizations to work with us.

What I am proud of brand-wise is that we are known in our Kansas City community not just as coaches and trainers but as a strong support system for our business network and community. We have built a true business family in KC and we are proud of that.

The main thing we can ask your readers is to give us an opportunity to add value to them not just as clients but also as an extended part of our business family.
As a way to introduce ourselves to organizations from any part of the US, we do FREE one-hour training sessions where we provide real value to their teams. If interested in taking a deeper dive into our programs, we then discuss and come up with a customized plan on how we can train and develop their teams.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was an outgoing, story-telling, and playful kid. My special interest was in language and words and how the use of the human voice could make a difference in how you feel and act.
Many times I watched and listened to the pastor at my church preach and I thought it was cool to be on stage.
