Before launching our company, my dad spent more than 20 years working for another roofing contractor, and every summer during high school I worked alongside him, learning the trade piece by piece. After graduating, I left for the U.S. Army in 2017, where I spent four years developing discipline, structure, and a strong sense of organization.
When I returned home in 2021, I started working at Home Depot. It was during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when everything was becoming more expensive and many families—ours included—were feeling the financial strain. My dad mentioned that despite decades of loyalty and hard work, he was denied a raise. That moment hit me deeply. It didn’t feel right, and it reminded me of the idea we once discussed: building something of our own.
With that conversation, everything changed. My dad decided to obtain his roofing contractor license, bringing in decades of experience, while I brought the leadership mindset and structure I gained from the military. Together, we took a leap of faith and officially launched Francisco’s Roofing Inc.
We started small—just my father, two crew members, and myself. Our first project was right in our own neighborhood, and from there, our reputation began to grow. Word of mouth, consistent quality, and a commitment to doing things the right way helped us gain momentum.
Today, only three years later, our team has grown to nearly 10 employees, not including my father and me. Building this company has taken patience, resilience, and a lot of long days. There were moments when it felt like things might not work out, but we pushed through every challenge.

In the early stages of building Francisco’s Roofing Inc., one of our greatest challenges was securing the capital needed to bring our vision to life. Even with strong credit histories, every bank we approached declined our applications. It was frustrating, especially because my father and I were fully committed to creating something meaningful—not just a business, but a legacy. With no outside support, we made the decision to put all our personal savings into the company and run with it. That leap of faith was risky, but it became the foundation for everything we’ve built.
Another hurdle we faced was establishing a steady workflow. In the beginning, projects came in unpredictable waves: one week we’d be fully booked, and the next, the phone wouldn’t ring at all. That level of inconsistency was mentally and financially draining. But instead of letting it discourage us, we used it as motivation. We intensified our outreach, focused on delivering top-tier craftsmanship, and prioritized genuine customer service. Over time, our efforts paid off. Word-of-mouth grew, referrals increased, and those slow weeks gradually became the exception rather than the norm.

Success is being able to provide steady work for our team, support my father after years of hard labor, and create opportunities we once wished someone would give us. It’s seeing a homeowner smile because we solved a problem they’ve been dealing with for years. It’s hearing a crew member say they’re proud to wear our logo. It’s building something that didn’t exist before and watching it grow through honesty, consistency, and hard work.
Success also means staying true to who we are as a family-run business. We don’t cut corners, we don’t rush jobs, and we don’t treat clients like numbers. We measure success by the quality of our work, the relationships we build, and the reputation we’ve earned—not by how fast we can get to the next project.
At the end of the day, if our team goes home safe, our customers feel taken care of, and we’re continuing to grow year after year, then that’s success to us.
