Community Highlights: Meet Daniel Alvarado of Structurally Sound Foundation Repair

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Alvarado.

Hi Daniel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started working in this trade since i was 19 years old with 2 big name company’s in the area. I learned the trade and at a certain point started doing side jobs after work and on the weekends. I saw the benefits of buying the tools and machinery necessary to do the work instead of borrowing and renting them out. As I got busier having a regular job and doing my own work was overwhelming as I was never home after work or on weekends, so I decided to try and live of my own business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s has took a lot of work and dedication to get to this point. Having to struggle wearing many hats to get to this point like advertising, estimating, scheduling, accounting and on the field labor

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
we’re a family owned business and we do retaining walls, waterproofings, water management, concrete and we specialize in foundation repairs. We believe we fill a niche in the repair business as we do alot of the work that most big chain companies won’t do. Some jobs take alot of manual or excessive labor that they rather not even bid for. Or sometimes working with stone or cindeblock foundations is not something they do.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Being happy on what you do, being profitable and being able and capable of establishing bigger future goals.
