Community Highlights: Meet Cassie Hamilton of The Knot Narrative

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Hamilton.

Hi Cassie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always loved having a camera in my hands. Growing up, I was constantly taking photos and sharing moments on social media when it was just taking off (yes, we’re talking the MySpace days). When I went to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas, I wasn’t 100% sure where my career was headed. I just knew that I loved talking to people and loved the camera. My career began in 2016 in television news, where operating the camera and editing video quickly became my favorite part of the job. Along the way, I also gained extensive experience creating content for social and digital media, which was a huge part of the industry.

My husband’s job took us from Amarillo, Texas to Scranton, Pennsylvania and eventually to Wichita, Kansas. After spending eight years in local TV news, I decided to step away so I could spend more time with my family. Around that time, my best friend was getting married in Knoxville, Tennessee, and she hired a wedding content creator. After watching that creator all day, all I could think was, “I can do that.”

In 2025, I took everything I had learned from my journalism background and started my own business, The Knot Narrative. The name encompasses my love for storytelling and weddings. Now I get to help couples relive one of the biggest days of their lives doing what I love most.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There has been a lot of learning as I go. I feel like I learn something new at each wedding, whether it’s improving the way I shoot video, work with other wedding vendors or interact with wedding guests. Most people don’t know what a wedding content creator is or what they do, so there can be a lot of explaining myself at times.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Knot Narrative is a luxury wedding content creation business dedicated to capturing the authentic, behind-the-scenes moments. I’m based in Wichita, Kansas and available worldwide. Wedding Content creation isn’t meant to compete with photographers or videographers, we’re meant to compliment them. Photographers and videographers focus on timeless imagery, I preserve the candid emotions and in-between memories—all delivered to couples within 24 hours.

What sets me apart is my background in broadcast journalism. After eight years in television news, I developed a storyteller’s eye, learning to anticipate meaningful moments and capture them as they naturally unfold.

I’m proud of creating an experience that allows couples to stay fully present while knowing every laugh, happy tear, and celebration is being preserved.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Network, network and network some more. Everyone has to get their start somewhere. Don’t be afraid to reach out to those more experienced than you and ask for help.
