Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Thibeaux.
Hi Andrea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! I’m Andrea—also known as Chef Andi—the chef and owner behind Classy Cuisine.
At my core, I’ve always had a passion for food and the creativity that comes with it. I love the art behind creating a dish and watching how a great meal brings everyone to the table.
My path here was actually a bit of a journey. I spent 15 years in Corporate America, but food was always calling my name—in fact, I owned a successful cupcake business for five of those years. Back in 2015, I decided to take a leap of faith, left corporate life, and went straight to culinary school. I wanted to refine my craft and really learn the ins and outs of running a private chef business. After graduating, I launched Classy Cuisine in 2017, and I’ve been blessed to build incredible, lasting relationships with my clients ever since.
Lately, things have come full circle. I’ve stepped back into the corporate world, but i’m also completing the Baking and Pastry Arts program at Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. Juggling both keeps life pretty fast-paced right now, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m building toward something big with all this new baking experience, and I’m really excited for what’s next!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entrepreneurship is definitely not a straight line. I learned early on that you can’t do it alone—having a solid team in your corner makes all the difference. Between navigating the pandemic shutdown, handling personal loss, and those occasional “maybe a 9-to-5 would be easier” moments, it’s been a wild ride. But I never let any of it slow me down. Every single rough patch ended up teaching me a lesson, and I just used those moments as fuel to keep pushing forward.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Classy Cuisine ?
Classy Cuisine is a private chef service that specializes in small intimate gatherings. Whether it’s a dinner party, a romantic date night, specialty brunch or any kind of celebration with your favorite people, I take care of the details so everyone can just relax and enjoy the moment.
What sets me apart is that I am professionally trained in both culinary arts and baking and pastry. In the restaurant world, these are two entirely different careers. By mastering both, I can offer my clients a seamless, luxury experience. I handle the artisan breads, the main courses, and the desserts with the exact same level of discipline and expertise.
I’ve been quietly baking up some exciting new things behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to show you what’s next! Big things are right around the corner, more to come.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I don’t know any business owner who hasn’t had to take some kind of risk. For me, I’d
say the biggest one was just taking that leap and starting the business. In the beginning
income can be unpredictable depending on client bookings and the time of year, it can
sometimes be hard to know what to expect from week to week. Some risks can
definitely be challenging, but they can also open the door to some really great
opportunities and rewards.
