Today we’d like to introduce you to Zackaria Clay.

Hi Zackaria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started when I was younger around 15-16, I had begged my mom for a job because I had seen all my friends getting paid. She then told me to make money doing what I love to do at the time which was playing in makeup and sketching out clothes. I then have grown as an entrepreneur and making money doing what I love which is makeup and fashion.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road for me. Entrepreneurship is not the easiest thing to do. Also being as young as I am and building a brand there has been a struggle. But I’ve learned to use that as an advantage versus seeing it as a roadblock. I have room to grow and expand as a business.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a makeup artist and clothing designer. I design all my clothing as a seamstress so I stitch all the pieces that I make. My motto is to BeU Gorgeous and If you look good you feel good, so I promote self-confidence in my products and services. I am proud of my endurance and always willing to go harder with anything I do.

I am also proud to be hitting goals and going after my dreams which a lot of people don’t do or start till they either finish school or later in their life.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5-10 years, I see my brand being National and reaching those bigger markets. I see my products in high end retailer stores. I will eventually have a team that will provide high-end beauty services. As far as my clothing becoming a high-end brand that is a household name.
