Today we’d like to introduce you to Toska Echols.
Hi Toska, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I went to school for Interior Design because I’ve always loved how spaces come together-how color, detail, and function can completely change the way a home feels. That path led me to work with the owner of an established, Northland painting company, where through his guidance and example, I helped build the business.
I handled customer care, led crews, offered design and color consultations, and managed social media. Over time, I learned what truly makes a company successful: trust, communication, and showing up for both clients and your team. When that owner decided to retire and sell the business, it felt like the end of a chapter—but it turned out to be the beginning of a better one.
The crew I had worked alongside and my current partner, Brett, made the decision to start something new together. That’s how Toska Painting Pros was born. We’ve been in business for almost two years now, built on shared values, experience, and a genuine love for the work.
With my design background and Brett’s experience in home rehab-plus his incredible network of contacts-we’re able to offer our clients more than just paint. We offer guidance, craftsmanship, and solutions that help bring entire homes to life. Toska Painting Pros isn’t just a company to us; it’s the result of everything we’ve learned, built, and believed in along the way.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building Toska Painting Pros has come with its fair share of growing pains. We’ve hit roadblocks, felt the aches that come with long days and big responsibilities, and had to learn, sometimes the hard way, how to work through challenges together. Learning each other’s strengths and weaknesses, trusting the process, and staying open to new ways to grow hasn’t always been comfortable.
There were moments when the path forward wasn’t clear, but those moments pushed us to get better, smarter, and stronger as a team. Every hurdle shaped how we operate today and reminded us why we started in the first place.
It hasn’t been easy, but it has been incredibly rewarding. The effort, the lessons, and the progress make every challenge along the way completely worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Starting out, our biggest advice is to be patient and stay committed to doing things the right way, even when it’s harder or slower. Growth rarely happens overnight, and the early stages come with mistakes, and a lot of learning as you go. That’s normal.
We wish we had known sooner that you don’t have to have everything figured out to move forward. Learning each other’s strengths and weaknesses, asking for help, and being willing to adjust your approach are just as important as skill and ambition. Communication within your team and with your clients matters more than almost anything else.
Most importantly, show up, be honest, and stand behind your work. The rest builds from there. The challenges will test you, but if you stay consistent and true to your values, the journey is absolutely worth it.
