Check Out Toni Reed’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toni Reed.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into content creation started from simply wanting to share real parts of my life and connect with people who could relate. Over the years, I’ve experienced many different seasons—balancing motherhood, my career, personal growth, fitness, relationships, and learning how to prioritize myself along the way. I realized that many of the conversations I was having with friends were conversations that other women could relate to as well, which inspired me to create my podcast, All The Things FHL.

The podcast became a space where we could have honest, unfiltered conversations about fitness, health, lifestyle, relationships, confidence, motherhood, mental wellness, and the realities of navigating adulthood. I wanted people listening to feel like they were sitting down and having a real conversation with friends—not being judged or told they had to have everything figured out.

As I continued creating, my content naturally expanded beyond the podcast. I began sharing more of my fitness journey, lifestyle, travel experiences, local Kansas City restaurants and hidden gems, and the everyday moments in between. I’ve always enjoyed discovering new places and experiences, but creating content gave me a way to tell the story behind those moments and encourage other people to try something new, explore beyond what they know, or simply make more time to enjoy life.

Today, I’m continuing to grow as a creator while balancing my career and being a mother. My goal is to build a platform that feels authentic, relatable, entertaining, and inspiring. I want people to see that you don’t have to fit into only one category—you can care about your career, prioritize your health, travel the world, try new things, be present for your family, and continue discovering who you are along the way. I’m still growing and learning, and I enjoy bringing my audience along for that journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to balance being a mother, maintaining a full-time career, prioritizing my health and fitness, creating content, and building a podcast—all while still making time for myself and the people I love.

Another challenge has been overcoming self-doubt and the pressure to have everything figured out before starting. When you create content, it can be easy to compare your journey to people who have larger platforms, more resources, or years of experience. There have been times when I questioned whether my content was good enough, worried about what people might think, or felt discouraged when something I worked hard on did not receive the engagement I expected.

Starting a podcast also came with its own learning curve. We had to learn the technical side of recording, editing, promoting, and building an audience while also becoming comfortable sharing honest conversations publicly. Creating something from the ground up requires patience because growth does not always happen as quickly as you hope.

Consistency has probably been one of the biggest lessons for me. Life gets busy, motivation changes, and sometimes you have to keep showing up even when the results are not immediate. I’ve learned that success is not always measured by views, likes, or follower counts. Sometimes success is receiving a message from someone who connected with an episode, felt inspired by my fitness journey, tried a restaurant I recommended, or decided to step outside of their comfort zone because of something I shared.

The challenges have taught me to give myself grace without giving up on my goals. I’m still learning, evolving, and discovering my voice as a creator, but I’ve become more confident in sharing my journey authentically instead of waiting until everything is perfect.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a podcast host and lifestyle content creator focused on sharing authentic experiences through conversations, fitness, travel, food, and everyday life. My goal is to create content that is relatable, entertaining, and useful while encouraging people to experience more, prioritize themselves, and understand that they do not have to fit into only one category.

I am the co-host and creator of All The Things FHL, a podcast centered around fitness, health, lifestyle, and all the conversations that happen in between. We discuss topics that many people experience but may not always feel comfortable talking about openly, including body image, relationships, motherhood, mental wellness, burnout, confidence, personal growth, and navigating life as an adult. Our conversations are honest, humorous, and unfiltered. We want listeners to feel like they are sitting in the room having a conversation with friends.

Outside of the podcast, I create fitness, lifestyle, food, and travel content. I share my personal fitness journey, local Kansas City restaurants and hidden gems, travel experiences, hotel and restaurant reviews, and realistic moments from my everyday life. I enjoy turning an experience into a story and creating content that helps people discover somewhere new, plan an experience, feel inspired to travel, or become more confident in starting their own journey.

I am most proud that I have continued creating while balancing motherhood, a full-time career, my personal goals, and everyday responsibilities. Building a platform takes consistency, patience, and the willingness to keep learning. I am also proud that my content reflects who I genuinely am rather than presenting a perfectly curated version of my life.

What sets me apart is that I do not believe people have to choose only one identity or niche. I can be a mother, a career-driven woman, a fitness enthusiast, a traveler, a foodie, a podcast host, and a creator at the same time. My content reflects all of those parts of my life. Whether someone discovers a new Kansas City restaurant through one of my videos, feels seen during a podcast conversation, or becomes inspired to prioritize themselves and try something new, I want my platform to feel like a space where people can connect, laugh, learn, and grow.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next five to ten years, I see the content creation and podcasting industry continuing to grow into an even larger space for storytelling, community, entertainment, education, and business. People are increasingly turning to creators for recommendations, honest conversations, travel inspiration, restaurant reviews, fitness motivation, and perspectives they can relate to.

As the industry grows, I also see myself growing with it. My goal is to continue expanding All The Things FHL into a larger platform where we can have meaningful, honest, and entertaining conversations while building a strong community around fitness, health, lifestyle, relationships, personal growth, and the real experiences people face throughout life.

I also see my personal content continuing to grow beyond Kansas City while still keeping a strong connection to my hometown. I want to continue highlighting local restaurants, hidden gems, businesses, and experiences while expanding my travel content to include more destinations, cultures, hotels, food, and experiences around the world. I hope to build partnerships with brands, restaurants, hotels, tourism organizations, and businesses that genuinely align with my interests and audience.

I believe audiences will continue moving toward creators who are authentic, relatable, and willing to share more than a perfectly curated version of life. That is where I see myself fitting into the future of the industry. I want my audience to grow with me through different seasons of life rather than feeling like I have to limit myself to one topic or one version of who I am.

In the future, I would love for content creation and podcasting to become an even larger part of my career and create opportunities that I may not have imagined when I first started. Whether that includes expanding the podcast, collaborating with larger brands, traveling through content creation, hosting events, or creating new projects, my goal is to continue building something authentic that connects with people and encourages them to experience more of life.
