Check Out Teddy Love’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teddy Love.

Hi Teddy , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I come from a legacy of singers from my grandfather to my Dad and now me! Started off singing at the age of 3.. Singing in the church allowed me to have a major Gospel background. I’ve sang in various choirs in the community and school from Elementary all the way to college. After college I wanted to expand my singing talents so i started out doing karaoke at local bars/clubs which landed me actual gigs at these same bars and clubs to even hosting my own singing/talent shows! While doing that I decided to take my singing more serious. I was featured on American Idol and I sang the national anthem for Sporting KC which aired on ESPN. I’ve hit big stages where I performed for big names such as Monica, Alicia Keys, Charlie Wilson, T.I and many more! Now im currently in the process of making national moves. By hitting the west coast first! From Arizona (Phoenix), Nevada (Las Vegas), and California (LA).. Although i am nervous for these big moves i feel like “Nothing Can Stop Me, Im All The Way Up!!”

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest obstacle was me. I had and sometimes still need to get out of my own way. We often block ourselves from receiving blessings that are due to us because we’re afraid of what they come with. But fear is literally FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL… Once you gain that mentality, the things you thought were obstacles were really illusions all along.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Currently Besides singing I am a Barber. I love giving people their confidence back. Especially Men. Why? Because in today’s society it feels as if the weight of the world is on a lot of men’s shoulders including mine. So if i can be of help in something as little as allowing someone to feel more confident because they look good then i feel like purpose is being fulfilled..

What sets me apart from others i feel is my drive and perseverance. All my life ive had to fight for what I want and needed. So those experiences that I went through allowed me to have that strong drive and taught me to persevere through anything.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
If you need to find a mentor. My advice would be find someone whose NOT familiar with you and has also been where you currently are! A wise man once told me, “Going there cant tell been there how to get there!” Those words stuck to me like glue until this very day.

As far as networking. I say network your butt off! Go to those conventions, go to those pop up shops and also have your cards, merch, socials in order and network with EVERYONE. You never know what someone has in store for you that will elevate you and/or push you into the next version of yourself.
