Today we’d like to introduce you to Symone Franks.

Hi Symone, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Symone Franks and I am a local KC model. I am also a full-time student studying environmental science at UMKC. My modeling journey started in December 2022. I went with my friend, Nina, to a KC Rising meetup. These meetups are meant for models and photographers to network and get some shots. I was reluctant to go, but I had the best time! Since then, I have met several amazing models and photographers who have provided direction through the KC creative scene. I have been so grateful to shoot with many amazing photographers and work with brands I have admired for years!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been smooth, but I won’t say it’s been rough! As a full-time student at UMKC, I don’t have as much free time as other models might have, and sometimes that makes it more difficult. It is easy to compare yourselves to other models who may be booking more jobs, but I had to understand that everyone is in different stages of their journeys.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I model! I specialize in stylized shoots, and I especially love editorial work. I am most proud of my recent collab with MadeMobb and Aj Wilane. The photos from that shoot came out exactly how I wanted, and I was excited to represent a local KC brand. I value my creative eye, and I think I bring a fun twist to any shoot I do, I’d say that’s the biggest thing that sets me apart from others!

Who else deserves credit for your story?
So many people! Gaby Rassasck was one of the first people I connected with in the modeling scene. She is an incredible friend and supporter. I appreciate MadeMobb for trusting me with their brand and Gaby for getting me in. I’d also like to acknowledge Lexi Fox, Luz Ronquillo, Aj Wilane, and Cassandra Coho! They are all so talented in their respective fields! I’d also like to thank my friends and family for always hyping me up and supporting me.
