Check Out Molly Hoffman’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Hoffman.

Hi Molly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started photography when I was about 14 years old. As a kid, I used to take photos with my phone of anything and everything I could. Eventually, my dad needed a camera for work and he was kind enough to let me use it. From that point on, I was always walking around with the camera. I started taking photos of my sister in our backyard and then started taking photos of my friends, too. At first, it was just sort of a fun hobby, but the more I got familiar with the camera, the more I fell in love with it. Even though I was still in high school, I knew I wanted to take this passion forward. So I started to reach out to more friends and neighbors and eventually got into taking senior photos. I did that for several months until I was picked up by a local KC photographer that took me under his wing. Through him, I was able to gain experience in event and wedding photography. After training with him, I began to take on my own weddings and build my brand and business that I have now. I’m still young and always learning, but I can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I was first starting my photography business, I did run into some roadblocks and obstacles but nothing too detrimental to my career. I was 15 and still in high school so I was learning to manage regular teenager high school things like studying, extracurricular activities, and sports on top of starting and managing a business. Probably one of the most difficult things I worked to overcome was starting my business at the young age of 15. I found that many people doubted me solely because of my age, even if they were impressed with my work.

I’m now in my 6th year of my business and have made so many connections within the industry and have had such incredible clients along the way, this has helped me grow into my business in the best way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a wedding, adventure elopement, and couples photographer. What I believe sets me apart from others is my passion for getting to know my clients prior to taking their photos, I am eager to get to know them and their personalities before diving into all things business. I firmly believe it makes for a better, more authentic experience when my couples and I know more about each other. It allows me to know more about their passions and their visions so that I might convey that in their photos. I’m most proud of myself for allowing a safe and comfortable space for my clients to feel at ease and at home while I take their photos and capture the most beautiful days of their lives.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
You can reach out to me through my website or follow me on Instagram and share my posts! If you are reaching out with ideas on collaborations, I’m always down to try new things and go on adventures.
