Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Vernon.
Hi Michelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
20 years ago when I graduated esthetics school a mentor introduced me to permanent makeup. I opened my esthetics pratice and also began my permanent makeup journey. It was hard to find someone for me to apprentice under because at that time 20 years ago not very many people even knew about permanent makeup. My mentor and I traveled far and wide to seminars and classes, I found a master artist in Flordia who took me under his wing and taught me everything that I know today. It took a lot of determination and hard work to get liscenced in Kansas and Missouri, something that I am quite proud of. I am a proud member of Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals and Alliance of Professional Tattooists. I am also quite proud of my volenteer efforts with 1-99 Ministry and KC Dream center.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’d love to say it was easy, but it wasn’t. When I started we didn’t have the internet or on line classes. I spent a lot of money traveling to train with the best. I’ve been fooled many a times by false trainers that were in it just for the money. I never gave up,because of my passion for permanent makeup. It was a lot of long hard hours lots of pratice and blood, sweat, and tears. Self doubt and the stress of running business can really put a strain on you if you let it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am most proud of my licenses,my hours, certifications and training. I specialize in permanent makeup. I tattoo brows, eyeliner and lips, and also performing scar revision I am known for my natural approach to permanent makeup and tattooing brows that look like you were born with them. What sets me apart is my experience and expertise. My heart for my clients.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Covid taught me to never take anything for granted.
