Check Out Michelle Harney’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Harney.

Hi Michelle , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a proud Mexican American woman. I was born in Kansas City, MO. and raised in Kansas City, KS. In high school I enjoyed art, & I loved singing in choir. I have always had the feeling that I was meant to inspire other’s. Whether that be through laughter, music, art or simply just being relatable. I am happily married & a mother of 2. As I’ve gotten older that creative side of me is something I can now express on my social media platforms. I started posting content back in 2020 when it was the pandemic. Tiktok quickly became a huge way to engage with others. I felt like I had found my people.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being on social media trying to monetize my platform has not always been easy. But I learn something new everyday. I graduated in the year 2000 when technology was just starting to see things evolve. Gen X & Millennials were the first generations to see dial up & AOL chat rooms. Today you can communicate with people simply by uploading a video or posting a photo from your phone. It’s pretty amazing and something I never thought I’d ever see when I was a kid.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have a full-time job in Patient Accounting. But my most LOVED thing to do is post on social media. I aspire to make it my full-time dream job. I am a proud latina woman born in Kansas City, wife, mother, 80s baby & 90s kid. So I like to represent those things in my content. I think what sets me apart from others is I’m not afraid to be vulnerable with my platform. And I definitely am not camera shy. I’ve always wanted to be in the spot light. Being able to reach so many people has brought me so much happiness. Especially when my family joins in on the fun. We are huge KC Chiefs fans. I feel like I’m not just making content. I am making memories. And knowing you can inspire other’s is an incredible feeling.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I’ve recently taken some risk by taking my platform to another level. Branching out on the Tiktok shop. And let’s just say sales & marketing is not my strong point. But I won’t let that stop me from trying. There’s so much room for growing.
