Hi Melanie and Jennifer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We (Jennifer and Melanie Rose) got started back in 2020 driven by a shared curiosity about astrology. We lived in Fayetteville Arkansas when we began dabbling in astrology together.

At first, it was all about learning more for ourselves—getting to know our strengths, weaknesses, and how we could grow spiritually, both individually and together. But soon enough, we picked up tarot, and it became clear that this was something we could offer to others. It wasn’t just about personal development anymore; we realized these tools had the potential to help people on a much larger scale.
That led us to create Rose Tarot & Astrology, our YouTube channel, where we started sharing astrological insights and tarot readings. The more we shared, the more we found that people were eager to learn about themselves and find guidance in their own lives.

We then took it a step further and started reading at public events—first Thursdays on the square, birthday parties, weddings, university events, and even craft markets. Tarot really took off! We realized that so many people want to understand themselves better and make progress in their personal lives, and we love being able to help with that.
Along the way, we also started offering one-on-one readings, either in person or over Zoom. We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, non-religious, spiritual space where everyone can feel safe and accepted, no matter who they are. Our work is all about offering practical advice and empowering our clients with the insights we provide.
It’s been a journey of growth, both personally and professionally. Mel Rose bri8ngs astrology, reiki, and intuitive tarot reading to the table, and Jennifer is a psychic medium with a deep connection to the spiritual realm. She speaks with the recently departed, and together, we offer a truly unique blend of spiritual guidance.

We’re both from Kansas City, Missouri, and have known each other since third grade. After being happily coupled for a few years, we tied the knot on December 23, 2019, on the Kansas City streetcar, followed by a fun stop at Minsky’s Pizza with our friends and family. Our roots in the Midwest are something we’re proud of, and we’ve always stayed true to that laid-back, GenX spirit. We like to bring that vibe to our readings, which are grounded, honest, and just a little bit “Woo.”
We’ve worked hard to create a space where everyone—especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community—feels safe, respected, and supported. That’s been a core value from the very beginning. Whether it’s through astrology, tarot, or spiritual mediumship, we’re here to help people navigate their journey with insight, compassion, and a little bit of humor along the way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. We’ve faced our fair share of struggles along the way. For one, there have been investments that didn’t work out the way we hoped. Sometimes, we’ve spent money on things like participating in public events—like craft fairs—which can have expensive fees attached, only to find that they didn’t bring in the returns we expected.
There was also a time when we rented an office space, but because of the nature of our work, it made some of the other tenants uncomfortable, and we ended up being pushed out. On top of that, we made the decision to move to a new state, which meant starting from scratch in a completely new location. It hasn’t been easy—our business still isn’t as profitable as we would like, but that doesn’t stop us.
At the end of the day, our mission is to help people, and that’s what keeps us going. We’ve learned to be resilient and keep pushing forward, no matter the obstacles. We’re still here, still trying to make a difference, and still committed to helping others however we can.

About Mel Rose: I am a graduate of National Holistic Institute in 2003. I bring many years of  professionalism, expertise, and grounded, healing vibrations to all of my services. My great joy in life is to affect healing and a sense of well-being.
I am an intuitive tarot card reader and I read with compassion and honesty.
Outside of work, I spend time with my family of legendary Kansas City icons, and, with my wife. I enjoy advocating for our fellow LGBTQIA+ people and my practice is ALWAYS to be considered a safe space to all.
I love astrology and have been featured on world famous and fabulous astrologer Nadiya Shah’s YouTube video. I also enjoy arts, culture and music.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
We believe the most important quality to our success is showing up as real people with a genuine interest in being of service. What we do isn’t a party trick or something for entertainment; it’s a chance for people to have meaningful conversations about their priorities, challenges, and growth. Whether we’re offering a tarot reading, astrology insight, or connecting with spirit, our goal is to create a space where people feel heard and supported.
Of course, we absolutely love working at parties and events! But even in that fun setting, the conversations are still real. We want our clients to walk away with something valuable, whether it’s clarity on a decision or a deeper understanding of themselves. It’s that authentic connection that makes the work we do so rewarding.
