Today we’d like to introduce you to Makayla Reynolds.

Makayla, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
What got me into spiritual skincare was my grandma. Immediately after she passed away five years ago, I felt an extended connection to/with her. It made me realize that there is definitely more to this “life” than the physical. This started my love for magical aromatherapy. With magical aromatherapy, varieties of essential oils have specific spiritual benefits to them. For example, clove can be used for protection and lemongrass can be used for psychic awareness.

With all of my products, I incorporate organic essential oils to them and include a description of how each essential oil works for you spiritually. My slogan is absolutely the overall meaning of my business, to Ascend With the Skin You’re In. The whole purpose is to show that not only do my products help the physical body, but to also uplift the spirit, to ascend.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would be lying if I said this road with my business has been smooth! It has been smooth, crooked, and bumpy! The number one struggle I have dealt with is myself. I am my biggest problem. It is honestly difficult coming from someone that is doing everything from the ground up, something from the heart & soul and doesn’t have easy access to quick turnouts like a celebrity.

It is the anxiety and doubt that gets to me to where I believe that I don’t have full-on support for my business, but I absolutely do. Whenever I have events or make posts about my products, so many people show support to where I’m overflowed with joy. Consistently reminding me that people are always watching. They are always waiting to see what’s next.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of being a black woman, embracing the world of spirituality. A lot of individuals are scared to learn truly how powerful we are. We are all capable of something beyond what the eyes can see, we just have to tap into it and be in tune with it.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Having passion is a great characteristic to exude when it comes to being successful. Being passionate means that what you are doing is coming from somewhere deeper than the surface. It’ll remind you of why you are doing what you’re doing, and what made you start/build it in the first place.

It’s a reflection of your love for something. It’s a message to others to know how important this means to you which will have them gravitating towards empathizing and respecting where you’re coming from. That in return will create support.
