Check Out Lacey Binns’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacey Binns.

Hi Lacey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m a Midwest girl with a love of shopping and styling. I started Life Without Louboutins in 2018 as a space for sharing ideas, my shopping finds, and lifestyle in general for women who want to cultivate a stylish life on a budget. I love playing with personal style and encouraging others to do the same. Every woman deserves to feel confident and beautiful in her own skin and in her home! Originally from St. Louis, I lived in Indianapolis from fifth grade through my high school graduation and moved to Kansas City, KS, right after. I attended the University of Kansas and married my husband shortly after graduating in 2015. We live with our two pugs, Bellatrix and Jedi, in KC, which we love to explore. Prior to my current career in insurance, I worked with Ann Taylor, BeBe, Swarovski, Kate Spade, Lucky Brand, and Tiffany & Co. to name a few as well as producing and styling fashion shows. Now, by day I work my 9 to 5 and by night, I share my love of KC, fashion, and home.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
After leaving home at 17, I worked multiple jobs to put myself through college at KU. I feel lucky to have been able to find a job out of college, but working in insurance is never what you dream of when you’re a kid. Fashion has always been an obsession of mine. However, a career in fashion in KC wasn’t going to pay the bills like insurance was offering even if I found a job that wasn’t retail. I created my blog in 2018 as a place to channel my creative energy and love of fashion when I wasn’t working my 9 to 5. As an introvert with social anxiety, writing has always been a comfort and an outlet. This blog has allowed me to focus my energy, share my struggles (and that of other women), and connect with those who share my interests.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love old movies and books, with Jane Austen being a favorite. This year, I’ve been reading more historical fiction just finished The Paris Wife.

My favorite podcast is called Style Your Mind. It is all about positivity in all areas of your life, tackling your goals with confidence, and being an all-around boss babe.
