Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Schalk.

Hi Kelly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My small shop originally started as a hobby and a creative outlet to share my work with friends and family, but through hard work and dedication, my business has blossomed into something I never dreamed of! With the help of an amazing rep team, I was able to reach a wider audience and grow my customer base, which contributed tremendously to business growth.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
So far, the largest challenge I have faced is gaining exposure and finding my “niche.” Sometimes it can be tempting to create items that are on trend or popular, but I have discovered that if you remain true to yourself and stick with your style, the right customers will eventually gravitate toward you.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with what you do?
My shop specializes in handmade hair accessories, specifically scrunchies, headbands, and bows. I am most proud that my products are used frequently in everyday life; I love to see people enjoy wearing them or that my products have made their lives a little easier, especially the moms who are always on the go! What sets me apart from others is the variety of prints/fabrics I offer. I carry styles ranging from classic and modern to funky, playful, and edgy.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
YouTube Music! I can only get through any aspect of life by listening to my favorite tunes. They help fuel my creativity but also calm the crazy when I’m feeling overwhelmed.
