Hi John P., can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
This story is about myself and my co-founder and good friend, Patrick Carr.

Thirty-five years ago, we met as freshman at Benedictine College, in small-town Atchison, Kansas and have been friends ever since. For the last three decades we’ve been laser focused on our careers and both absolutely love our day jobs. I’m the Founder of 37 Global and Patrick is the CEO of the U.S. division of The H&H Group, a personalized gift company.

For the last three years, we’ve literally been meeting on Saturday mornings at a local Kansas City coffee shop to discuss creating an exclusive line of men’s accessories that we could eventually pass down to our five collective sons. Thoroughly inspired by Matt Hranek’s WM Brown men’s lifestyle magazine, Alex Holderness & John Bourne of Holderness & Bourne, and Richard Greiner and Andy Forch, the founders of Huckberry, along with some strong encouragement from our wives, Angie & Kate, we made the decision to start J. Patrick & Co. on April 1st, 2023. Despite officially forming their new business venture on April Fool’s Day, we’re completely serious about curating products for guys who appreciate quality men’s goods.

Although we have countless ideas for products, we started with a handful of everyday carry essentials, and then grew the product line over the past couple of years. Admittedly, we carefully obsess over every single detail to ensure our first products turned out perfect. We hope you love them as much as we do!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When your mission is to provide great products and personal service, the road is rarely smooth. J. Patrick & Co.’s journey is no exception. Late deliveries from our partners, sample quality issues and personalization logistic struggles can always create frustration. However, like most small business, we do our best to find a way to prove out our mission and create loyal clients. It’s certainly been a passion and fun journey.

The company was founded out of our friendship and shared vision to curate lasting goods that could be passed down through generations, inspired by icons in men’s lifestyle and design.
