Check Out Jasmine Powell’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Powell.

Hi Jasmine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My love for photography has always been prevalent. In high school, my journalism teacher let me take home the school camera and I fell in love. I’d spend the rest of my life with a camera after that. Photography has always been an outlet for me, no matter what I’m shooting. Portraits, Cocktails, Events, Landscape, you name it.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not. I don’t think the journey is supposed to be all uphill. Some of the best growth you will make is when life doesn’t seem easy at all but you keep going. There’s sometimes that little voice in my head will tell me “I’m not good enough” but what snaps me back into reality is that I wouldn’t be me without photography. I think that’s always been the battle for me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a landscape and street photographer! I’d say I’m more known for that than any of my other passions. I’ve been exhibited in ImageNation Paris 2024 and I’m extremely proud of that. I think my view of the world is what sets me apart from others. I can be anywhere in the world and still make a place feel like home. I offer a unique eye and perspective and that makes my photos stand out.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Photography, Music, Dance, Film, Art, etc. It makes me feel connected with myself as I feel most of the world tries to distract us from what fulfills us.
