Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Kacz.
Hi Jamie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My path has always been rooted in community, connection, and collaboration. Before stepping into my role as Executive Director of the Platte City Area Chamber of Commerce, I spent years working across nonprofit leadership, advocacy, education, event planning, and community engagement. Through those experiences, I developed skills in communication, programming, relationship-building, leadership, and creating opportunities for people to get connected and involved. I also spent several years deeply engaged in advocacy work, where I helped draft two constitutional amendments that ultimately passed at the ballot, led successful local and statewide campaigns, and worked with local lawmakers on drafting ordinances and legislative bills. That work taught me a lot about strategy, public engagement, collaboration, and how to turn big ideas into real momentum.
Looking back, the common thread has always been people. I’ve always been drawn to work that helps build connection, strengthen community, and move meaningful ideas forward. Over time, I realized one of my greatest strengths is bringing the right people together and creating energy around a shared goal.
That’s a big part of what led me to Chamber work. I’ve always loved bringing people together and helping them work toward a common goal. Now I get to do that every day by supporting small businesses, building partnerships, planning community events, and helping Platte City continue to grow. It’s a role that combines so many of the things I’m passionate about, and I truly enjoy helping businesses connect, thrive, and become part of a stronger community. I feel incredibly fortunate to be in a role where I can bring both heart and momentum to the work I do every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road, but I think that is true of anything meaningful. Challenges are part of the process. For me, it has always been about having the mindset to persevere, pivot when needed, and adapt along the way. I really believe there is almost always a solution, and usually something valuable to learn on the other side.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I serve as the Executive Director of the Platte City Area Chamber of Commerce, where I focus on supporting local businesses, building community connections, and helping create momentum for Platte City. My super powers are bringing people together, creating opportunities for collaboration, and helping businesses feel more connected, visible, and supported.
I’m known for my energy, my relationship-driven approach, and my ability to turn ideas into action. I’m most proud of helping shape a Chamber that feels welcoming, engaged, and forward-moving. I think what sets me apart is that I lead with both heart and strategy. I care deeply about people and community, but I also know how to get things moving and create meaningful impact.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me through the Chamber by partnering in events, community projects, sponsorships, business support efforts, and even conversations around growth in Platte City. I’m always excited to connect with people who want to support local businesses, strengthen the community, and help create positive momentum.
One of the best ways to support the work I do is to get involved! Join the Chamber, attend events, collaborate on ideas, or help champion the businesses and people that make Platte City special. I really believe strong communities are built through relationships and collaboration, and I’m always open to conversations about how we can work together.
