Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Beem.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Beemer Plumbing was founded by James Lee Beem Jr. in early 1980.00. He was Joined by his son Jeremiah Beem full time in late 1990. They worked hand in hand until James Lee Beem Jr. passed unexpected very soon after his son joined his side full time. This forced Jeremiah to find employment elsewhere due to the lack of business knowledge to continue running the company full time. Jeremiah still performed work for several Beemer Plumbing customers as side work for the next 10 or 12 years.
Jeremiah and Heather Beem started the company back up full time in 2010 as fully insured and licensed company. At this time there was one work van and one technician. Shortly after startup the company grew to 8 employees with multiple service vehicles handling all types of repairs and new construction projects. The company also handled many excavation tasks of water and sewer line replacements and repairs.
Today we are an established woman owned business with Heather Beem being the majority owner and managing partner of the company. Beemer now operates with a staff of 6 employees and a range of different service vehicles. Beemer Plumbing has there own excavation equipment and specialty equipment for trenchless sewer and water line replacements. We handle everything from a toilet repair to a full septic system new install or replacement. Beemer works in residential settings and also in full 200 plus unit high rise commercial buildings. We do operate a 24 hour emergency service company.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning we grew too fast and that provided its own set of challenges and hurdles to overcome. It forced us to scale back and grow slower and therefor allowed us to focus on the key values that we wanted to integrate into the company.

We have the capability and the know how to deal with delicate and unique situations. With many years of knowledge in solving issues some have given up on or cannot remedy.

Do not think bigger is better. Grow slow and solid
