Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Daniel Ze Biakath.
Hi Eric Daniel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Honestly, I didn’t plan to go freelance. In 2021 I was stuck doing generic designs at an agency and started taking small gigs on Fiverr at night.
My turning point was a project for a fitness coach. He came to me with just an idea and zero visuals. I created his logo, workout PDF templates, and 30 days of Instagram posts. 3 months later he messaged me: “I got 12 new clients from your designs”. That’s when I knew I could do this full-time.
The hardest part at the start was pricing and finding clients. What helped me was specializing instead of saying “I do everything”.
Now I’m at a point where I work with coaches and local brands to build visual identities that actually bring them clients. I still love that I can pick projects that excite me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
The 3 biggest struggles at the start:
1. Finding clients : My first 3 months I had more time than projects. I was applying to 20 jobs/day on Upwork and getting rejected. I solved it by niching down to [your niche] and asking every happy client for referrals.
2. Pricing & confidence : I used to undercharge because I was scared to lose clients. I’d do a 200$ project for 50$. The turning point was when a client told me “your price is too low, I won’t trust the quality”. I doubled my rates and lost some clients… but gained better ones.
3. Inconsistent income : Some months were amazing, others were dry. That stress was real. I fixed it by building a pipeline: always talking to 3-5 potential clients, even when I was busy.
Today it’s smoother because I have systems + repeat clients. But I still get challenges. The difference is now I know I can figure them out.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What I do: I’m a freelance social media manager + web designer
What I specialize in: I help small businesses and local brands build their online presence with social media content + modern websites. My focus is turning followers into clients and clicks into customers.
What I’m known for: Clients usually come to me for consistent posting that gets engagement and clean websites that are easy to use on mobile. I handle everything from content planning to going live.
What I’m most proud of: My favorite project was managing Instagram + creating a simple website for a local boutique. In 3 months we grew their Instagram from 200 to 1.5k followers and the website brought them 8 new online orders per week without ads.
What sets me apart: Most freelancers just post or just code. I focus on strategy + presence. I don’t just post pretty pictures or build a pretty site. I make sure your brand shows up, connects with the right people, and actually sells.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see social media and web design merging into one role: building a brand’s full online presence.
In the next 5-10 years, AI will handle basic posts and templates, so the value will shift to strategy and authentic storytelling. Brands won’t just want “3 posts per week” they’ll want content that creates community and sales.
