Today we’d like to introduce you to Elle Siegel.
Hi Elle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started getting into photography at the summer camp I attended around 12 years old and wanted to continue when I got home. It started with pictures of plants, my sister, and anything I could find. Once I got to high school, I joined the newspaper and got into shooting sports games for my school. Through all this, I have been shooting for Quite Frankly the Band since its founding in 2017. I eventually parted ways with the newspaper, but I can go to it since I have shot for the Royals, Boulevardia, and anything else. I’m a big advocate for mental health and shameless self-promotion!
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I had issues with my school’s newspaper after my mental health started to decline, and I eventually parted ways with them. After that, my motivation was at an all-time low. I eventually started to reach out to different connections to get opportunities and found my love for photography again without being connected to the paper.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am so lucky to have been with Quite Frankly the Band since day 1, and I am very proud of my work with them. They recently played their second year at Boulevardia, which was an amazing shooting experience. Another shoot I am proud of was the Royals. Although it was just batting practice, it was a fantastic experience to get the experience and learn from amazing mentors to get these opportunities; it is essential to work connections you have. Shamelessly self-promote, reach out to recourse, and take a chance because it could lead to a big win!
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m a big advocate for mental health. I think it’s important to surround yourself with people who support you, and if you’re not, maybe they are not the right people for you, and you can make it without them. Take care of yourself, ask for help if needed, and find joy in the little things!
