Today we’d like to introduce you to Daphne Gafford.
Hi Daphne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been passionate about skin since my early 20’s when I was at a world-renown spa in Vegas. I was always interested in skincare since my teens. It ignited me to go to JCCC school of cosmetology and receive my esthetics degree at 24. I’ve been practicing esthetics for 16 years now and went solo six years ago. It has been a learning experience in a positive way with growing a business and all the different irons in the fire. I’ve continued to learn in the field and help people improve their skin for the better. I offer face and body waxing, facial, derma planning and chemical peel services along with lash tinting and lifting. I currently have two locations, Shawnee, KS and Overland Park, KS. I have recently added a website assistant and social media assistant to my business to keep up the demand. My motto is to help men and women achieve amazing skin through an individualized approach and treatment plan with in-office treatments and at-home products.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been an easy road. With being a working Mom, it has its time management challenges for sure. Also when I first started out, I would have days with no clients and I got discouraged and depressed. I started to question if I chose the right career path. But with persistence and hard work, it has paid off. I am still learning and growing as the field continues to evolve.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a licensed esthetician who specializes in waxing, facials, dermaplanning, chemical peels, lash tinting and lifting. I love doing all services but my favorite one with the best results in dermaplanning with a chemical peel. I’m proud that I never gave up my passion as an esthetician. It gives me such joy in helping people with their skin. I think I set apart from others because I try to be kind and thorough with every client and treat them with respect and VIP treatment.
How do you think about luck?
I honestly do not have luck. I’ve worked hard and it has paid off. I believe in prayer and what the universe is telling me.
