Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Fischer.
Hi Danielle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Oh goodness, my story. I have always had a love for hair. My mom used to take me for perms (hello, 80’s + 90s!) as a little girl, and I fell in love with being in a salon. I worked with Drybar for years (my first true love!) until returning to my home state, Kansas. After college, I moved out to Phoenix to attend the Toni&Guy Academy for Cosmo school and enjoyed the desert life for about 10 years. This is where my passion for styling came from. Fun fact, I used to run from updos, and now I can’t get enough. Fast forward to today, I love going on location for weddings, events, and photoshoots.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not all great things come easy, but each can teach you something and build strength. I remember the struggle of working in a big salon or going solo, building that confidence. I have done both, but each taught me something different. My big career hurdle was moving states. In Arizona, I established (comfortable) 10 years of friendships with clients and co-workers. That is a lot of life to do with your favorite people. We lived breakups, marriage, babies, all of it together. Once I moved back to Kansas, it was starting from scratch again. “No, I promise it’s not my first day” was a phrase I felt like I used a lot. My main takeaway from the last 10+ years, be myself. I was so nervous about chasing after my main passion (styling) that it slowed me down for a while because I felt I needed to succeed. Not anymore; now your girl is chasing after it!
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an on-location stylist specializing in weddings, events, and photoshoots in the heart of Kansas, Wichita. I travel all over to surrounding states + cities. I love what I do and the incredible people I meet. Don’t be surprised when we become friends; the hair is just the perk! My hope of what sets me apart is the genuine interaction between myself and my clients. I want that massive sass when we are finished, and I will be your biggest hype girl!
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
It is being approachable. I have always wanted to deliver next-level styles, but that can’t happen if people are intimidated. I always want to create an environment of confidence and allow people to be comfortable. Add that with the grit of not giving up; here we are!
