Today we’d like to introduce you to CARA & CHRISTINA BROONER & TAYLOR.

Hi CARA & CHRISTINA, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We met at a baseball field watching our boys play on the same team and quickly discovered how much we had in common. After first offering craft workshops, we decided to hone in on one lane and started making jewelry in 2019. When the pandemic hit, we kept moving and our business really thrived since we were completely online and still is today. Now, we also sell our products wholesale and do several pop-ups each year, where we love connecting with our client-base. Our products have shifted from clay and wood beads to gold-filled materials and colorful gemstones and we love being in that space and offering something unique. We search far and wide for high-quality materials and know we’re providing exceptional products to our customers.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While the pandemic was a struggle for a lot of small businesses, not being responsible for a brick and mortar allowed us to be a lot more flexible and to keep growing. Since then, our biggest challenge has been keeping up with social media. Since it’s our main marketing tool, it has become more of a challenge to keep up with that ‘game’. What posts will be most visible, etc, and the space has become so much more saturated. We have had to learn that consistency is key and word-of-mouth is a great tool too! Also challenging is competing with storefronts like Amazon – people don’t always know the difference in quality, but it’s huge. And it’s hard to compete with overnight shipping when we’re hand making each item.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are are a very lean team of two! Christina spearheads things creatively while Cara manages things from a business perspective.

We are known for hand-making high quality on-trend jewelry.

We are most proud when we see both friends and strangers wearing our products ‘in the wild’.

We think what sets us apart is that we offer a quality product at a competitive price point.

Any big plans?
Our next big product is a customizable charm necklace that can detach and also be worn as a bracelet. We’re so excited to launch this – we’ve been working on it for a long time! We love something that is personal, and the more tricks it can do, our customer is getting an even bigger bang for their buck!
