Check Out Cameron Carlson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Carlson.

Hi Cameron, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started BTS Collective Co in the summer of 2025 and what started as a dream and a passion for capturing people, their stories, and the little moments, has transformed into a full wedding and event content creation business serving people and couples in Kansas City and beyond. I’ve always been drawn to documenting with intention and creativity, and stepping into the wedding industry has felt natural and like the perfect fit. It’s incredibly important to me that our entire business is rooted in care, connection, and intentional storytelling. Being invited into people’s most meaningful days is something I’ll never take for granted, and I’m endlessly grateful for it!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not, but most things in life that are worth it aren’t easy!! Starting my business definitely came with some challenges. Coming from a nursing background, I had zero experience with the business side of things, so a lot of it has been self taught and very much a “learn as I go” process. Figuring out systems, finances, and marketing has stretched me in ways I did not expect, but at the same time have been fun to learn and figure out. I also think that in the beginning stages of creating and building a business, you really are just trying to figure out what works, what resonates with people, and what your groove and niche are going to be.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In my business, I focus on wedding and event content creation, along with business branding projects, but weddings are definitely what I shoot most often. There is something so special about being able to document a day filled with emotion, connection, and moments that people want to remember forever. I’m most proud of the brand and experience I’m building for my clients and couples. I want everything to feel intentional and personable, a curated collection of big and little moments that truly reflect how your day felt. I love creating relationships that turn into real friendships that last long after their special day. I truly care about the people I work with, and I think that genuine connection and intentional approach is what sets my work apart.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest piece of advice for anyone just starting out is to give yourself grace and allow your business to grow with you. In the beginning, it is so easy to compare yourself to others or feel like you need everything figured out right away, but you really don’t. I wish I knew that it was okay to take things one step at a time and that mistakes are part of the process, not a sign that you are failing!

It’s so important to trust your gut and stay true to what feels right for you. The technical side of things, the systems and the confidence will all come with time and experience. But the heart behind why you started is what will guide you and set you apart. Surround yourself with people who support you and celebrate the small wins. You are learning, growing, and building something MEANINGFUL!!! Even on the days it does not feel like it.
