Hi Callie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve wanted to be a cosmetologist since high school, but it took quite a few years to go to school to pursue that career finally. I also knew that I someday wanted to own my salon. With lots of planning and effort, I opened my in-home salon only a few months after graduating! Now I’m living my dream of being a salon owner, stylist, and stay-at-home mom.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a very smooth road so far. With the support of my husband and parents, I have been very successful thus far.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m the owner of Marx Studio in Basehor, Kansas! I’m still very new to this and am learning and growing daily. I love working on blondes and curly hair. But that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy doing just about anything else. I am proud of how much I have achieved so far in just a short time. I never thought I would be running my salon at 24 years old. I still have many dreams I plan to chase and achieve someday, but I am so happy with what I have accomplished.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
I find myself on Pinterest and Instagram just about every day, finding inspiration and watching videos learning new techniques!
