Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Dampman.
Hi Brian, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Brian Dampman. I grew up in Philadelphia for about 18 years before moving to Overland Park, where I finished high school. That move really marked the start of my entrepreneurial journey. From a young age, I was drawn to building things and finding solutions, which led me to launch a variety of ventures—starting with a mobile detailing business, then moving into a lending portfolio, consulting for call centers and startups, and even payment processing.
All of those experiences taught me how to identify opportunities, adapt quickly, and build relationships. That path eventually brought me to Haulible.com, where I’ve been able to combine everything, I’ve learned into creating a platform that solves real problems and drives growth.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—and honestly, I don’t think it ever is when you’re building something worthwhile. Along the way I’ve faced challenges like raising capital, finding the right partners, and learning how to pivot when a strategy wasn’t working. There were times when growth stalled or when we had to make tough calls on direction, but those moments forced me to get sharper, more resourceful, and more resilient as a leader.
In hindsight, those struggles were some of the best parts of the journey—they pushed me to innovate, think differently, and ultimately helped me get to where I am today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At my core, I’m a builder and connector. Right now, my focus is on creating transportation and logistics solutions that are not only reliable but scalable. Through Haulible and other ventures, I specialize in identifying inefficiencies, designing systems around them, and then executing in a way that’s both customer-focused and growth-driven.
I’m most proud of being able to take an idea and turn it into something real that serves people. What really sets me apart is my ability to bridge different worlds: I understand both the operational side and the customer experience side, and I bring in partnerships and resources that others might overlook.
At the end of the day, I think I’m known for two things—persistence and creativity. No matter the challenge, I’ll find a way forward, and I’ll do it in a way that creates value for everyone involved.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about Kansas City is the energy—it’s this perfect blend of big-city opportunity and small-town community. The food scene, the sports culture, the arts—it’s all growing, and you can feel the momentum. There’s also a real pride here, and people genuinely want to see Kansas City thrive, which makes it a great place to live and do business.
What I wish we had more of is unity and communication, especially when it comes to major events. Sometimes incredible things happen here, but they fly under the radar, and you only hear about them after the fact. If we were more coordinated in getting the word out, I think Kansas City could shine even brighter on the national stage.
