Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca & Jacob Cantrell

Hi Becca & Jacob, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Becca started photography around 14 years ago, and I slowly found my passion for documenting weddings/engagements. It was important to me to create the best photography experience for couples, and I had the privilege of meeting so many amazing people along the way. Around 7 years ago, Jacob entered the business after we had dated a while and found that he loved photography as well. Shortly after that we got married and rebranded to “The Cantrells” to further dive into the industry as a husband and wife photography team. We really strive to give clients the best photography experience, and tell their story in a genuine, and intentional way. Jacob looks at and captures things in a very artsy and documentary style, while Becca is guiding couples when needed and captures things in a very editorial and timeless style. It’s important to us that couples really get to live in their moments so they can feel all of those emotions while looking back on their photos for years to come. We are so thankful for this career that lets us meet so many wonderful people, and also be present and raise our family.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There likely isn’t any smooth road while working on anything. Everything comes with struggles, but those struggles help us learn and grow! One struggle that sticks out to us– it’s always been a struggle to find work-life balance. We want to do the best we can for our clients, yet have come to realize that taking care of ourselves, and making sure our cups are full is incredibly important. Balance has become a big word for us. We see and photograph things differently, and that is such an incredible thing! The same for work-life balance, we have to have a full cup in order to pour out into others.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We are a husband & wife photography team that specialize in weddings and engagements, but love photographing lifestyle sessions as well. We are known for genuine and intentional photographs that bring couples right back into their moments, and also providing a stress free experience during the whole wedding process. Being a husband & wife team, we really get to relate to other couples going through the same thing we have– the beginning of their marriage together. I feel like this helps us capture their moments in the best way.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
The peace of a slow morning with a book, some tea, and the ambient sounds of our daughter’s mischief and laughter.

• Our wedding package prices start at $4000 and our normal client investment is around $5500.
