Check Out Atazia Pitre’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Atazia Pitre.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I always had an interest in cutting hair but never actually did it. Then Covid happen and I was at home bored playing around with clippers. I kept getting on YouTube every day for like 3 months straight watching “ how-to videos”, eventually I noticed that it was something I actually liked. My dad use to love cutting hair as well, he died when I was in the 5th grade.

So me cutting hair is like connecting with him! I couldn’t wait to find something I had a passion for and I finally did. So I started looking around for barber schools and now I’m attending the Klassic Transformation in Lee summit. I’ve been going there for 8 months, now I do that during the day and I work a full-time overnight job while going to school.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My struggles would be learning the craft and not giving up. everybody wants to be good but nobody actually sees the work you have to do. It’s a challenge but I like it. All about repetition.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m in barber school right now and I’m working towards being a licensed barber. I’m known for being called “Pway Cuts”. I think my attitude and perspective of things is what sets me apart, I live by “ stay pure”. Everything I do comes from the heart and I feel like what you put into this world is what you get out of it. Move with a pure heart always!

What makes you happy?
Cutting hair literally I will cheese all day long. It gives me a challenge and I like to see a before and after. I love hearing people say they love the cut. I also feel like I connect with my dad during every cut.
