Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Morgans.

Andrew Morgans, founder of Marknology, started his company as just a side hustle. Marknology then turned into a top 10 ranking business listed on the popular freelancer site, called Upwork. Fast forward to seven years later, Andrew has grown a diversified team of 22 unique individuals that work together locally here in a Kansas City office. Not being limited to Kansas City only, Andrew also works with other creatives around the globe. This talented team currently manages over 40 brands on Amazon & is a partner to Amazon Advertising Network. Andrew’s commitment & efforts in expanding his company has ranked Marknology as one of the most premier businesses in the world to assist brands in accelerating on Amazon.

They have grown exponentially over the last four years especially and are thought leaders in the e-commerce space when it comes to holistic e-commerce business strategy. Marknology continues to help brands scale on Amazon, manage their digital retail shelf space, and navigate the challenges that surround selling on Amazon. Marknology was founded to give brands a partner that they can trust to lead them every step of the way; From understanding direct to consumer buying behavior, navigating the complexities of logistics, accounting, and even more importantly, brand protection.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entrepreneurship has been one of the toughest things I have ever done. Cash flow and labor have always been a challenge with our business. You have to be willing to take risks, especially in the unknown moments in this line of work. As Amazon has grown in its popularity, so have agencies that provide this service. We were almost too early trying to convince brands of the value of selling on Amazon. Marknology has lasted as a company through some of the toughest seasons, and now, here we are in a leading position in the e-commerce world. Talent acquisition has also been a major issue. No one goes to school for what we do, so, the skilled positions at Marknology are taught from the inside. It has been a struggle to scale expertise, but now, I really feel like we have figured out how to grow at scale as a team with our education process.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in selling on Amazon. How to navigate these hurdles, handle issues, problem solve, and scale a business on Amazon is what we solve for. We are trustworthy and have a reputation that I believe is unmatched. We are a team of 22 that are all local to Kansas City, and have a wide knowledge base of selling on Amazon. Most agencies have a few skilled workers in house and then outsource tactical positions. Our internal team allows us to collaborate and really see all the sides of Amazon as a team.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in Africa as a Missionary kid. My upbringing was pretty wild in comparison to the average American that I happen to know. I was shy but also very outgoing depending on the situation. I could be the main actor in a school play or quiet for 4 hours as I sat with my dad in very adult meetings across Africa and acted as a fly on the wall. I loved being creative and playing with computers. I was building computers at a very young age, like 5 or 6.
