Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Flowers.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My mother-in-law, and I have always shared a love for fashion, so we decided to put our heads together, and start a boutique online. We did LIVE shopping videos, pop-up events, and anything we could think of to get our name out there, and grow our little business.
After doing that for quite a while, we started to feel a little discouraged. Things just weren’t taking off the way we hoped. Not long after that, my husband, and I moved to Sweet Springs, Missouri, to be closer to his job. One day, we started looking for local events in the area and stumbled across the Open Air Markets in Knob Noster, Missouri. We decided to give them a try, and we’re so glad we did!
The markets went amazing for us. We even made our own little dressing room inside the tent, and had such a great time connecting with shoppers face to face. After doing several of those events, we reached a point where we had to decide to either keep traveling for pop-ups, or take a leap of faith, and open a brick-and-mortar store.
We prayed about it, and then the perfect spot in Knob Noster practically fell into our laps. It truly felt meant to be. We jumped on the opportunity, and now here we are running our boutique, and absolutely loving being a part of this wonderful, supportive community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There were definitely some challenging moments. Trying to get our name out was difficult, and just trying to figure out what customers like as far as fashion was challenging, and sometimes can still be challenging.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At our boutique, I love helping customers find the perfect outfit, and accessories. My goal is to make sure every person who steps into our store feels confident, comfortable, and welcomed.
I’m most proud of the compliments we receive day in, and day out. Seeing people leave happy, and feeling good about themselves makes everything we do worth it.
What sets us apart from other boutiques is our commitment to being size-inclusive. We believe fashion should empower you, and make you feel beautiful no matter your shape, size, or style. That’s why we carefully curate cute, on-trend clothing for every body. It’s about more than just selling clothes, it’s about helping people feel confident, empowered, and their absolute best.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing people feel confident and good about themselves. Helping a customer find the perfect outfit, watching someone light up when they try something on, or hearing the compliments we get day after day. Those moments make all the hard work worth it. I also feel so grateful that I can bring my little one to work with me. Being able to share this part of my life with them has been a huge blessing. Outside of the boutique, spending time with my husband, my little one, family, and friends brings me so much joy, and makes life feel full, and meaningful. I have a fantastic support system behind me.
