Today we’d like to introduce you to Alaina Carlisle.

Hi Alaina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been cooking since I was a little girl in my grandmother’s kitchen. Sitting there in the chair infatuated with her apple pies, lemon meringue pies and pound cakes, all from scratch. As I continued to grow and develop my own recipes and always had a passion for art, baking, and cooking, I started to venture out entertaining my friends and family. One day someone said to me Laina, you are so talented; why don’t you pursue and turn your hobby into a real business? And so I did; two years later, I am still working to continue to grow my clientele and expand my business.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road; for a while, I struggled with where to even begin at starting a business. I had no clue on what it all entailed and how to market myself with the other competitors, enhancing my products, networking. Trying different recipes as my clientele began to grow. I was terrified at failing but I always kept my faith remained positive and kept my head held high.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in custom-made cakes, cupcakes and gourmet desserts. Everything is all custom-made, fresh, design tailed for each order. Most proud of our homemade buttercream, which is flavorful, light, just amazing, our custom-designed cakes and cupcakes. Each of our clients receives top-of-the-line service when they place an order with us; all cakes and cupcakes are fresh customs designed and delivered that exceed their expectations. You give us your idea and we will exceed your expectations.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as achieving a reasonable level of stability while doing work that you enjoy/love your passion and then finding that you are also happy and fulfilled with your life and business aspirations.
