An Inspired Chat with Kartel Stylez of Downtown Kansas City Missouri

Kartel Stylez shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Kartel, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Being a peace with myself and any drama or things I feel like I have no accomplished yet!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Kartelstylez is a Kansas City-based celebrity fashion designer and tattoo artist known for creating custom art and fashion pieces for celebrities, including Tech N9ne, the Mahomes family, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce. He also famously created custom hand-painted jackets for Beyoncé’s dancers and custom wrestling shoes for UFC legend Daniel Cormier. His work often features vibrant, hand-painted designs on custom art and fashion pieces, including jackets, shoes, and murals.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
That I was not as smart as successful people or capable of achieving substantial things in life. I now know I can only be as smart or successful as I want to be or how hard I work or choose to believe that I am.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, I think I struggled with giving up a lot of different times but I realize struggle came with when I was feeling the most depressed or in moments I didn’t believe in myself as much as I do other days. Sometimes giving up is always a learning lesson so give up might be a feeling but not a fact.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
I think that every experience is a humbling experience in from each experience, you always ponder if you could do better or worse, and the answer is, you can always do worse, but it’s always an uphill battle to do better and become better! So always choose to move uphill and never back so I would say that Every public version of me tomorrow is the better of me today

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If immortality were real, what would you build?
I would build a city of art from artist all around the world and an art hub but to make the whole city dripped it paint and artwork of many different colors and shapes & sizes. A town you would have to pay to enter or trade art work to enter!
